First lets talk about how many things you are going to get bombarded with as a new students. Hopefully this will easy the learning in the classroom. These 2 softwares are an added value to use .
This software can also be exported to Microsoft Word or even saved as an HTML file. It is very versitle.
For example, it can be used to to a brainstorming session and can be used on your word wall. or also a map showing a type of prescribed text and what all the components of that text and what we should be looking for.
Smart Ideas. It is a mapping software to create multi leval maps using colours, symbols, arrows and clip arts. It is also available in both French and English and teachers do have Take Home Rights.
MathTrek 4-5-6 is the same idea as 1-2-3 but less game learning more problem solving.
Selecting then 1st grade then the student selects the game to practice in depth. The game gives short feedbacks.
For example the student selects Measurement( The pics taken from my schoolboard are in French but you'll get the just of it) and then can select the grade he or she is in.
both are divided by all 5 strands of math:
- Number Sens and Numeration
- Geometry & Spatial Sense
- Measurement
- Patterning & Algebra
- Data Management & Probablilities
With Math Trek 1-2-3 Fibonacci the bear will guide students with the game they are playing in a selected Strand
