Something unique: 3 parts of nucleotides are a base, a pentose sugar, and a phosphate group

Examples: DNA and RNA

Functions: store & transmit hereditary information

Elements: Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Phosphorus

Monomer: Nucleotides

Carbohydrates
