Encourage the understanding of how one individual, interacts with a larger context

Examines the different types of discrimination, whether it be; race,religion,etc

Humanism

Highlights the essences and ability for people to choose their own attributes

Theory observes reality from different aspects (all points of view)

Observes people who set goals for themselves and what they do in order to achieve it

Utilizes reinforcement and punishment to alter behavioral patterns

Has to meet the needs of individuals, both psychological and physiological

Looks at how each part of the society contributes toward overall stability

Acknowledges the interdependence of different institutions within society
