ROCKS AND MINERALS

IGNEOUS: formed from magma, then lava, then cooled

rocks and minerals are all around us (batteries, sidewalk, countertop, food)

some minerals are called geodes

Earth is made up of crust, mantle, outer core, inner core

METAMORPHIC - starts out as igneous/sedimentary - heat and pressure that changes this rock

SEDIMENTARY: formed from natural forces (wind, heat, cold, glaciers) made up of pieces of rock, pressure formed

Earth is a big rock
