One Thousand and One Nights, commonly referred to in English as Arabian Nights. Rumi (1207─1273) is one of the most famous poets of all time and lived toward the end of the Abbasid Caliphate, he crafted love poems. Ibn Rushd (1126─1198) translated the works of Aristotle making them known to a larger populous. Calligraphy was also made in the Golden age of Islam.
The Caliph Haroun Al-Rasheed constructed a magnificent Scientific Academy called the Majma Ilmi in which was housed a huge bookstore Khizanat Kutub containing manuscripts and books about various subjects in the arts and the sciences and in different languages. It is world famous as it is one the first universitys constructed.
Al─Khwarizmi invented algebra and lived about 780-850 AD and Ibn al─Haytham (965─1040 CE) who was the first scientist and wrote the book of optic, without these two discoverys the world we know today wouldn't be possible.
