after the medication has taken effect it travels back to the liver to be cleaned again and is then filtered by the kidneys
Many medication can move through the liver un affected
nutrilized metabolites may no longer be effective as medication

Medication moves through wall of intestine into blood vessels
Broken down medication travel from stomach to small intestine
Receptors
Pain receptors may call for pain killers to bind to them
Medication binds to the site where receptors are active
