with urban sprawl if the government can find a resource that makes them money they will use it for money

Higher tax prices

the government has to pay to build new urban areas so they need to charge more

more jobs

because of the more urban space there will be more jobs available

Environment

air pollution

because everything is far most people will have to drive

water pollution

if there are factories they use water

people can throw stuff in the water

Less green space

endangered plants and animals

deforestation

Social

social homogeneity

everything is the same where people live and it can be hard to meet new people

affordable housing

you dont have to spend as much money to buy a house because there are so many houses on the market now
