David klass was born on february of 1975 in Vermont, United States. His passion for literature led him decide his carrer as a teacher and then, as a writer. As a child, David was always in contact with books and writing machines because his parents worked as teachers. He wanted to make interesting books that call the atention of the young people and help them to knew a whole different world.

Plot

Resolution

Weeks later, John went to the music presentation in his school, where he observed that Violet was good at playing the saxophone and he realises that he had fell in love with Violet. At the end, he went with her to a party.

Falling action

John wakes up in the hospital surrounded by his mother and friends.And he explain what happened and what was making his stepfather (stealing) After this, she decides to leave Stan (John stepfather). Finally, John was free to think that his mother understand him.

Climax

When he return to the school, Gloria and Bill humiliated him. But he meet a good girl named Violet and was able to forget what just happened. In his home, John stepfather was drunk and assaults him. Which causes John a damage on his mouth. Fortunately, John is safe by his orchestra teacher, who already suspected that John suffers abuse, due to his negative attitude.

rising action

One day, Bill was stealing in a Chinese restaurant and he got caught and arrested. This event led John to ask Gloria if she wanted a date with him. The next day, Gloria and John went to a basketball match, but in there they found Bill, who called John “horrible friend “. This occasioned the start of a riot, where John and Gloria scape to her house. Later, Gloria seduce John, who scape from her and his angry father. When John was in his house, as a punishment for stealing his money, he send John to make a business. John is forced to carry TV’s into a truck. Working in there, he realises that his stepfather stole things and sell them.

Exposition

John is a fourteen years old boy who is always complaining and criticizing everything that surround him. He is tired about his life from the moment that his stepfather went to live with him and his mother. He is always rejecting about the fact that the school is a prison where students have to get adapted and follow all the rules. And he had the conclusion that teachers just leave homework because their lives are miserable so they have to bother someone else. In his school, John have a best friend called Billy Beanman, who actually is kind of competing against him because both of them are in love with the same girl, Gloria.

Characters

Jonh stepfather: He is always beating and kicking John without any reason and he is the main cause of the way that John think.

Bill Beanman is a boy who is always thiking about food, he is the best friend of John but he is in love with Gloria.

Gloria is an intelligent teenager who always safe John from the questions that teachers ask him. She is also a manipulative person. She seem to like John.

The mother of John: she is a person who does not pay attention to the relation that John has with her husband. Her work, makes her always out of home.

John is a teenager who is always analizing the people and situations that surround him. He is in love with Gloria.

The home of John, where all his problems started and the "anti-school".

Summary

The book talks about the life of John and how his negative perspective of things caused by the constant violence in his house.

The book talks about the domestic violence and its consequences for both, the victim and the victimizer.
