• this liquid is called filtrate including water, urea, ions and molecules

Proximal Convoluted Tubule

• mostly organic solutes reabsorbed like glucose and amino acids
• helps to recapture sodium and potassium

Loop of Henle

• long and hairpin shaped
• most or the reabsorption happens in this loop
• extracts most of the water and salts the body needs

Distal Convoluted Tubule

• regulates levels of potassium, sodium and calcium

• has pumps and other types of passive and active transport to filter out water and other materials the body needs
