- long and hairpin shaped
- most or the reabsorption happens in this loop
- extracts most of the water and salts the body needs
Distal Convoluted Tubule
- regulates levels of potassium, sodium and calcium

- has pumps and other types of passive and active transport to filter out water and other materials the body needs
