Planning The Future I want

Other's Care to Self Care

I want to improve my nutrition skills by not skipping breakfast. My nutrition focused goal is not skipping breakfast for a week. I will not skip breakfast & i will include all 4 food groups in my breakfast. I will know when i accomplished this goal when I see all the 4 food groups incorporated in my meal, and not being hungry later in the morning. Also when I move time for breakfast. What I would do to accomplish this goal is waking up 15 minutes earlier than normally and preparing my breakfast the night before. The reason for why I skip breakfast is usually because I do not have enough time in the morning but with these changes I can cut back on some time and still be able to eat a healthy breakfast.

Employment Standards #3: Meal breaks

Putting away time to do things I enjoy while improving my personal habits which will allow me to not be stressful all the time. By not procrastinating when it comes to school work and chores. I will start on assignments when assigned and slowly work my way through the assignment and not keep them to last minute. For example if I'm given something on Tuesday and it is due on Friday, I will split the time needed to complete this assignment according to how time consuming and large it is. The timeline I will give myself to accomplish this goal is by the start of December.

Employment Standards #2: Time is very important to me so, one of the most important employment standards to me is working overtime and hours worked.

Family Home to Own Home

Building strong and responsible decesion making skills. To prepare myself for the future when many things are my responsibility and can not be fully depended on my family and others for help. I plan on accomplishing this goal by starting small with smaller and less important decisions to more larger and important issues that need my attention. I will do this by being more responsible when prioritizing my time and start on my homework an hour after coming home. Which will allow me to complete important tasks first and not leaving it until the last minute. The timeline I have for this goal is by the end of semester 1. To see an improvement in my decesion making skills.

Budgeting my money wisely to be able to pay for 50% of costs involved with off campus housing. When reaching post secondary. I will do this by saving 20% of any money that I receive and putting it aside. What I must do is find a part time job during the school year by visiting my near by job fairs and chose one day out of the week to drop off my resumes at local stores. This goal should be met before 2019 fall.

Building a stronger relationship with my sister. With a further distance between my sister as she goes to school. We have not been talking very frequently with the different schudules. I wish to change this by leaving aside time to talk to her. I value relationships and the one I have with my sister is personally important to me. What I will do to accomplish this goal is facetime her regulary when I have completed my homework after 8 pm. I want this to grow into a habit and I will talk to her 4 times a week. The timeline I have for this goal is by the start of November.

Reach out to my teachers, peers, family , and friends when I need assistance and help. To improve my communication skills. I will do this by speaking in class more and by raising my hand when questions arise. I must notice when I do see myself struggling. I will do this by participating in classroom discussions, every time there is a discussion I will participate at least twice each time. This will allow me to be more comfortable in different enviorments when communicating with others. This goal should be met by first semester mid terms.

School to Career

Getting a part time job in either the food or retail industry to assist me financially preparing for post secondary expenses. To accomplish that I will revise and better organize my resume with all my volunteer experience in order to have a higher chance of getting a job. I will be more frequent and active when applying for jobs, so spending at least an hour and a half job searching online every week to be exposed to more job opportunities. I want to accomplish this by the end of November.

Employment standard #1: Minimum wage

Get accepted into, Ottawa University for the BScN program. With a minimum average between the high 70's to high 80's. In order to do that I must have a 80% and above in English by first semester midterms. What I will do to keep my mark up is take an hour each day to organize and put together both my notes and class notes and revise them which will help me later on to better prepare for my tests. Also making sure I complete any homework given in English every night which will be included in the minimum time of an hour a day. The end time I have set for this goal is by midterms first semester.

Career: OR Nurses have an average salary of $75,063. These nurses care for paitenets before, after , and during a surgery. These nurses assist the surgeons and prepare operating equipment and instruments. My preferred location to work is in downtown Toronto.

Workplace Responsibilites: take reasonable care for their own health and safety. Another responsibility at work is reporting any job related injuries and illnesses.
