The capital of Texas, Austin is the sixteenth largest city in the United States and the fourth largest in Texas with a population approaching 700,000 people. Austin is located in central Texas. Austin is home to three Fortune 1000 companies, including Whole Foods Market. Texas is Americas fastest growing city. Austin has an overall score of 83.9 out of 100 based on 18 economic factors. The Texas capital, with an unemployment rate of 5.2 percent and five-year wages growth from October 2008 through October 2013 of nearly 15 percent, had held first place for eight of the first 10 months in 2013. The city's average weekly earnings per worker are now $919.12. No other united states city has seen five year growth higher than 8 percent.

Texas’ political culture and ideology are defined by the combination of three main philosophical movements: classical liberalism, social conservatism and populism. Classical liberalism: the political ideology that values the freedom of individuals including the freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and markets Social conservatism: focuses on the preservation of what are seen as traditional values and the morality contained in those traditions. Populism: mobilizes the populations (often the lower classes) against an institution or the government, usually in defense of the mistreated. Overall, Texas remains a conservative state. The suburb areas continue to expand, and the vast majority who move there are conservatives. The Texas House and Senate have included more conservative members resulting in the Texas Government being overwhelmingly Republican, making them right winged on the political spectrum.

What- This Trade mission will allow Canadian Women who have business, especially women who have enterprises the opportunity to network with people from 500 different major companies and to connect with other who want to start a business, collaborate and form strategic alliances. How- Minister of Labor and Minister of Status of Women were responsible for a Canadian Business Women Trade Mission to Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) annual Conference and Business Fair. Where- The WBENC was taken place in Austin, Texas. When- Trade Mission took place on June 22 to 26 2015. Why- To create jobs, growth and long term prosperity. Government is committed to support companies to boost their exports and trade missions are tools to help out companies succeed.
