By respecting everyone's preferred language citizens can help make everyone feel welcomed into the community

Legal rights

responsibility to interrupt proceedings to any witness that may not understand the language in which the hearing is being held
every citizen has the responsibility to report to the jury if needed in court
obey the law

Democratic rights

every citizen has the responsibility to report to the jury when needed in court
Every citizen has the responsability to vote

Equality rights

everyone has the responsibility to not discriminate against anyone and to treat everyone with respect
ensure everyone of any race, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disabilities feels welcomed and included in the community

Minority language and educational rights

respect everyone's preferred language
Provide bilingual options e.g. restaurant menus could have an English and French option
the responsibility to provide primary or secondary instructions to any Canadian citizen who's primary language is the minority of the province or territory in which they reside in.

Mobility rights

you are responsible for helping your community and taking part when your community needs it
you are responsible for making people feel welcome if they have only just arrived

Fundamental Freedoms

respect everyone's conscience and religion
