Third graders are engaging in an interdisciplinary educational project that spans Earth and Space Science, English Language Arts, and Mathematics. They begin by documenting their current knowledge and questions about soil, which they will revisit after the lesson to reflect on their learning.

The teacher will collect soil samples for the students to analyze. Students will then create a chart as class to represent the different soil samples.
