There are two stories to the longhouse. The second story was used for people to sleep in. They are people who lived together.
Longhouses had a fire pit in the center of the house. It was used for keeping people inside warm. There hole to let the smoke out.
The Métis also gathered wild berries and edible plants. Berries were important food for the Métis. They were eaten alone, or added to a popular meal called ‘Pemmican’. Berries were stored in animal skins to prevent them from going bad.
They hunted animals like Plains buffalo, Mule deer, Moose, Pronghorn antelope, Prairie bush rabbit, Elk, Prairie chicken, Sage grouse, Duck and Geese.
They believe in everything the elders say and they also love the elders.
