Physicians have rewarding jobs that do something
I'm genuinely interested in. There is a solid path to
becoming a physician and it's also currently in
demand. This job caters to most of the things I want
in a career and it pays well. The only problem is the
time and effort that goes into becoming a physician
but that can't be avoided.
Journalists have jobs that I find really appealing
and cater to most of the things I want in a
job, however, their pay isn't as much as I would
like.
Psychiatrists have an interesting job that is
extremely in demand right now and is said to
be in the future, and I would be good at it
but modern-day psychiatry practices don't align
with my values
Bioethicists from the law path have very
interesting jobs that fascinate me.
However, the path to becoming a bioethicist
(even if you pick law or medicine) is extremely
undefined and therefore difficult to pursue
How will you put
your decision in
action?
I am going to study harder in school, find
more physicians who studied abroad and
find out their take on the job. I am going to
pick more specific courses to my career choice
and start managing my time better.
My decision is physician
Re-examine my plan
My threats are that all this higher education
is extremely expensive and I have severe
medical conditions that often time prevent me from
going to school
My weaknesses are that I'm not very smart
and I have poor time management skills
What are the alternatives?
My values include pursuing higher education,
caring for people, doing meaningful work, and financial
security. With the different occupations I've chosen, I
generally fit all my values into them.

Psychiatrist
Bioethicist (law path)
What information
do you need to make
a decision?
More information from a physician and see
their thoughts on their job and would they
recommend it
More information of the process of becoming
a doctor, specifically medical school requirements
and studying abroad and whether different medical
degrees are accepted in different countries
