Daging pipih yang dikeringkan dengan campuran bumbu ini cukup populer di Indonesia. Sama seperti abon, dendeng juga dijual dalam kemasan untuk jadi stok lauk. Dendeng bertekstur keras dan bercitarasa gurih-manis. Olahan daging ini dibuat dari daging sapi, kerbau, babi, dan sebagainya.

Menurut saya, abon adalah olahan daging yang unik. Bentuknya halus seperti benang wol dan berwarna coklat. Ternyata, abon dibuat dari serat daging yang dikeringkan dan masa awetnya bisa berbulan-bulan, lho. Tak heran abon sering dijadikan stok lauk. Abon dibuat dari daging sapi, ayam, kambing, babi, domba, atau ikan. Selain stok lauk, abon juga sering dijadikan topping bubur ayam, nasi kuning, atau dijadikan isi lemper dan cireng.

Teknik ini sudah dilakukan sejak masa prasejarah. Wah lama sekali, ya? Daging asap ala Indonesia biasa digoreng, dipanggang, atau dibuat bahan isi risoles mayo atau chicken gordon bleu.
Kornet

Kornet dibuat dari daging giling sapi (bagian sandung lamur) yang diawetkan dalam air garam lalu direbus. Biasanya dijual dalam bentuk sachet atau kalengan kotak di pasaran. Tapi kornet tidak 100% daging, nih. Daging olahan ini terbuat dari campuran daging, terigu, gula, garam, dan bumbu lainnya. Bentuknya lunak dan berwarna merah muda. Sosis dijual dalam bentuk siap makan atau mentah, yang nantinya bisa dibuat hiasan macaroni schotel, omelet mie, atau isian roti unyil.

Olahan yang satu ini ngehits banget, ya. Di Indonesia ada banyak jenis bakso, mulai dari bakso sapi, ayam, ikan, sampai seafood. Bakso orang Eropa dan Amerika berbeda dengan Indonesia. Mereka hanya membulatkan daging giling hingga berbentuk bola dan langsung dimasak. Nah, bakso buatan Indonesia dicampur dengan tepung tapioka sehingga terasa kenyal. Bakso fleksibel dibuat apapun seperti bakso Malang, bakso bakar, bakso goreng, tahu bakso, dan sebagainya.
