4 Main Macromolecules Found in the Cell

Nucleic Acids

Chloroplasts- Captures light energy and converts it into energy usable by the cell
Nucleus- Contains most of the cells DNA
Nucleolus- Controls Nuclelus

Protein

Nucleus- Stores information to make proteins
Golgi apparatus- modifies, sorts, and packages proteins into sacs called vesicles
Endoplasmic Reticulum- Site of Protein synthesis
Ribosomes- Help manufacture proteins
Cytoskeleton- Supporting network of long thin protein fibers

Carbohydrates

Cell Wall- Supports and protects the plant cell
Mitochondria- Converts energy into ATP (usable energy)
Nucleolus- Site of ribosome production

Lipid

Endoplasmic Reticulum- Site of Lipid synthesis
Ribosomes- Digests enzymes such as Lipids
Nuclear Envelope- Surrounds Nucleus in double membrane
Plasma Membrane- Controls what enters and leaves the cell
