Oedipus
Oedipus Denies the Truth
Causes
Believes he is the son of Polybus and Mereope
Genuinely believes that thieves had killed Laius
Stubborn, hubris (arrogance to listen) towards everyone else, belives he is the only one to solve the mystery
Truth is too terrible to contemplate
Unaware of the real situation, believes what he thinks
Jumped to his own conclusions, didn't ake anyone else's view into concideration.
He was unsure who his real parents where, he didnt know that Jocasta and Laius where his real parents
He thinks that Tiresias is providing him with false information
