THE USE OF INDEFINITE ARTICLES AN/A

if the word begins with a silent H, AN is used

USE ARTICLEA ''AN''

''AN'' is used in front of singular countable nouns which are not specific.

We don't use a before uncountable or plural nouns

If the noum starts with a vowel sound (a, e, i, o, u), ''an'' comes before the noum

Article + Subject + verb + Article + Noun

The boys kick a ball.

EXAMPLES

A A+ consosonant

a bag

a house

a student

a lamp

AN AN + vowel

An umbrella

An orange

An elephant

An apple

USE ARTICLES ''A''

If a noum starts with a consonant sound (b, c, d, f, g,, j, k, etc...)

We don't use a before uncountable or plural nouse.

''A'' is used in front of singular countable nouns (a person, animal or thing) which are not specific.
