Alexander the Great

VISIONARY

Alexander was determined to beat everyone who got in the way of his destiny. His destiny and fate was thought to take over all of india and beat his main rival Porus of the Pauravs.

“After relentless pursuit by Alexander, Bessus’s troops handed Bessus over to Ptolemy, Alexander’s good friend, and he was mutilated and executed. With Bessus out of the way, Alexander had full control of Persia.”

Throughout the young age Alexander sticked to his vision of conquering as many of the territories he can. Y the age of 25 he had had conquered 3 going on to this 4th

“Against overwhelming odds, he led his army to victories across the Persian territories of Asia Minor, Syria and Egypt without suffering a single defeat. His greatest victory was at the Battle of Gaugamela, in what is now northern Iraq, in 331 BC.”

CONNECTIONS

CONNECTION 2
Katniss Everdeen
Alexander’s bravery can be connected to Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games. Katniss can be compared to Alexander because they both went against all odds to achieve great heights. She had participated in the games and had to be brave in order to survive and be a victor. Alexander did the same thing by making sure he had every victory so he can go further. These 2 are similar in the sense that they both had fights to fight and they needed to have a victory to move further. “I will have to travel district to district and stand before the cheering crowd”(ch.1 pg.4) - this quote is something Katniss said showing/ explaining her bravery indirectly with her victory.
CONNECTION 1
Fight against Porus and Alexander.
Another connection can be to another great leader known as Porus. Porus was the king of Paurava and he was a great visionary as well. He had the vision to protect his motherland and he believed that he was brought into this world to protect it. Just like this, Alexander thought the same, he thought he was born to have a great empire and to conquer great amount of land. These two people tie in because as Porus protected his land and showed his people what he was here for, Alexander showed his people and fulfilled his vision to have a great army and empire by taking over the lands he can across before stepping into the Pauravas. “Alexander met King Porus of Paurava at the Hydaspes River.”

BRAVERY

EVIDENCE 2:
It has been said that Alexander had fought over 20 fights and had claimed victory in all but one against the Indian empire. After beating Porus he still wanted to take over all of India, this makes Alexander brave enough to go and conquer the area until he finally had a small part.
To this day Alexander has influenced people with his skills and his ability to win all wars that he had fought it.
EVIDENCE 1:

Alexander the great was known for this great achievements and his fierce personality. He has only fought in wars his whole life and after his father's death and being crowned at 20 he has been brave ever since.

“He was undefeated in battle and is widely considered one of history's most successful military commanders.”
