Special effects with fire were used

From 2 o' clock in the afternoon until the evening

For this reason it was destroyed in 1613

It was rebuilt in 1614

It was destroyed in 1644 by puritans

Actors were all MEN

They used wigs and costumes

Women were not accepted in the theatres as actresses

3200 spectators

They sat in the galleries

Poor people (also called the GROUNDLINGS)

They stood in front and around the stage

- It was made of wood - It was round or octagonal - It was an open-air theatre - It was opened in the centre to let the light in

- Three floors with galleries - Pit or yard - Main Stage (rectangular) - Inner Stage - Upper Stage - Roof ( a flag on it) - NO scenary
