Plot

Narrator has a childish obbsession with his friend Mangan's sister

The narrator and Mangan's sister talk about a Dublin bazaar called Araby

Mangan's sister admits that she is unable to attend the bizaaar but wishes she could

The narrator promises the girl that he will go to Araby and he plans to get her a gift

The narrator needed money from his uncle who comes home late and causes the narrator to miss his train

He is finally able to go to the bizaar; however, it is already late and it is closing up

He is unsuccessful to get the gift for Mangan's sister and stares angerily into the darkness as the lights turn off

Epiphany: Moment of sudden realization. When the narrator is unable to buy the gift for Mangan's sister
