    Turn mind map topics into tasks

    Choose "Turn topic into task" and add dates, owners, and priority. Subtopics become subtasks, and a parent's dates and progress are calculated from them.

  3. Switch from mind map to Gantt chart

    Choose "View as Gantt" to see the same plan on a timeline. Drag from one bar to another to link them, and later tasks move forward when an earlier one slips.

Questions about mind map task management

What is mind map task management?

Mind map task management means planning work as a mind map and turning its topics into tasks. In Mindomo, each topic can include dates, assignees, priority, and progress; subtopics become subtasks, and the same map opens as a Gantt chart.

Can I use a mind map as a to-do list?

Yes. Turn topics into tasks, set due dates, and mark them done. Switch to the Outline view to see the map as a checklist, and use the dashboard to see what is overdue or due this week across all your maps.

Is Mindomo mind map task management free?

Signing up is free. Tasks, assignees, dates, priority, progress, and recurring tasks are part of the Premium plan. Gantt charts and Excel and MS Project export come with the Professional plan. The Team plan adds team task management and calendar sync.

Can I assign tasks to people without a Mindomo account?

Yes. Add anyone by name as an assignee, even if they don't use Mindomo. A task can have several assignees.

How do dependencies work?

In the Gantt view, drag from one bar to another to link them. Choose Finish to Start, Start to Start, Finish to Finish, or Start to Finish, and add a lag in days. When a task moves, dependent tasks move forward in working time.

Can I import from or export to MS Project?

Yes. Import Microsoft Project .xml files, and export to .mpx or .xml. You can also import from Excel and export Gantt data as .xls.

Do tasks show in my calendar?

Yes. Subscribe to the iCal Task Feed for one map or all your maps in Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar. The feed is one-way: changes are made in Mindomo.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. Mindomo runs on the web, Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android, and sends push notifications when someone assigns you a task or changes a due date.

Can AI create tasks for me?

Yes. Connect Claude or another assistant through MCP, and it can create tasks, set owners, dates, priority and progress, and find tasks by due date or assignee. You can also start a new plan with "Create project with AI".
