Connect Mindomo to Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, and other MCP clients. Ask in plain language, and your assistant searches, reads, creates, edits, and exports the diagrams in your Mindomo account. The MCP server doesn’t accept personal API tokens. Those work only with the Mindomo REST API. Yes. You can connect and work with your maps on the free plan, and it doesn’t use your Mindomo AI credits because the AI runs in your own assistant. Your plan applies the same way as in the Mindomo app, so features such as search, tasks, and templates require Premium, and free accounts have a lower rate limit. Free accounts can hold 3 diagrams, so the assistant can’t create a new one until you delete one. Search, tasks, custom templates, custom themes, and exports other than plain text and the Mindomo format require Premium; Gantt view and Excel and PowerPoint exports require Professional. Free accounts can also make up to 100 tool calls an hour, 300 a day, and 3,000 a month, while paid plans get 1,000 an hour and 5,000 a day. When the assistant reaches a limit, it tells you why and gives you an upgrade link. The maps you can open in Mindomo, with the same rights you have on them. It can read maps shared with you, but it can only edit or delete a map when you are allowed to. Listing shows the maps you own; search, on Premium, also covers maps shared with you. Yes. The assistant fills in Mindomo’s own task fields, such as due dates, priority, progress, milestones, and assignees, instead of typing dates into topic titles. The tasks then appear in your task list and due-date reminders, just like tasks you add yourself. Task management is part of Premium, and the Gantt view is part of Professional. Yes, in clients that can display interactive apps, such as ChatGPT, Claude, and VS Code. The assistant shows a live view of the map right in the conversation. Other clients get a link that opens the map in Mindomo. The in-chat view uses a read-only viewer link for the map, which you can revoke. In your Mindomo account. They are the same maps you open, edit and share on the web, desktop, and mobile apps. If you have a map open while the assistant works on it, you see its changes as they happen, and the assistant shows up as a collaborator. Only when you ask. Adding, editing, or moving topics keeps the map’s layout and theme, and Mindomo places new topics automatically, just as when you add them yourself. The assistant can also change the layout if you ask, for example, switching to an org chart or rebalancing the branches. It can also restyle the map with a theme. Topics you styled yourself keep their style when you apply a theme, and you can ask the assistant to undo any of these changes. Yes. Ask it to undo a change and it reverts it. This works for its own edits from the last 30 days, and it never overwrites work someone added on top. Mindomo also keeps a version history of every diagram, and deleted diagrams stay in the recycle bin for 30 days. Ask for the format you want and the assistant receives the file. What happens next depends on your client: some offer it as a download, and coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex can save it straight to a folder. Exports larger than 5 MB are refused, so export very large maps from the Mindomo app. Whatever the assistant reads through Mindomo’s tools, for example, the topics of a map you ask it to summarize. Your AI provider processes that content under its own terms and privacy settings, so check those if your maps contain sensitive information. Open the MCP page in your Mindomo account and disconnect the assistant. Its access is revoked immediately. You can also remove the Mindomo connector from your AI client.
