Grammar rules are easier to see than to memorise
Most grammar difficulty is really classification difficulty: the rule is simple once you can tell which category a word belongs to. A branching diagram suits that better than a list, because the decision you are actually making is a series of either-or choices.
Action or Linking Verb is the clearest case — one test, applied to any verb, with the answer sitting at the end of a branch. Types of Figurative Language handles a wider set where the categories are easy to confuse in isolation and obvious side by side, and Multiple Meaning Words works on the problem that context, not the word, carries the meaning.
For broader vocabulary work, the English Words template is a structure to grow rather than to complete.
These are used in two ways in practice: a teacher presents the map with branches collapsed and opens them as the class reasons through the choices, or a student builds their own copy, which is the version that actually sticks. For applying the rules at length, continue to the literature and writing templates, or to mind map ideas for students for material outside grammar.
