Subjects where the relationships are the content

Geography rewards diagrams more than most subjects, because so much of it is nested: continents contain countries, countries contain regions, systems contain features. A list flattens that structure; a map keeps it, and the structure is half of what you are trying to learn.

World Countries is the broadest of these, a frame you extend a region at a time rather than a map you finish. Most important rivers in the world and Oceans and Seas are narrower and better suited to a single revision session, and Solar System Planets reaches past geography into the physical sciences.

The most effective way to use them is not to read them. Open the map, collapse the branches, and rebuild a section from memory before checking — recall is what fixes the material, and a map makes it easy to hide the answer and easy to check it. Each of these also exports as an outline for revision on paper. Related material sits in the science and biology templates, and there are more mind map ideas for students if you are building revision material from scratch.
